Award criteria

In the form of a letter that should include the following:

  • Nominations from the mentees or other VTS-Dentistry’s in good standing

  • Explanation of why they feel their mentor or peer has been an exemplary mentor.

  • Mentorship hours meet or exceed the minimum hours required per mentee and mentor contract.

  • A Technician that has shown themselves to excel in the profession and as a leader. This can include participating in leadership, lecturing, lab training, in clinical training.

  • Must be an active member and mentor in good standing with the AVDT

  • A minimum of 3 years as a VTS-Dentistry with mentees.

Award criteria

  • This award is open to VTS-Dentistry first, then secondly to other supporters of AVDT.

  • Potential candidates for this award can be nominated by persons within the field and self-nominations will be accepted.

  • Nominations must include at least two people connected to the nominee to serve as a reference if needed.

  • The nomination letter should include the following:

    • Longevity in the field

      • The nominee must have been in the profession for a minimum of 3 years teaching, promoting or sponsoring in some form.

  • Professional membership

    • AVDT, NAVTA, AVDS and local VMB or State Technician Association.

  • Mentorship hours

    • Through education and support such as conferences, other local training, etc.

    • Through education and support such as conferences, other local training, etc.

  • Volunteer time

    • The nominee that has gone above and beyond with contribution with involvement in the AVDT and the VDF should at least be > 10 hours.

  • Additional contributions to professional development and continuing education

○ A Technician that has shown themselves to excel in the profession and as a leader

○ Open to only VTS-Dentistry established members.

○ At least 2 years of active teaching, promoting, sponsoring in some form.
